Billboards.

Grand-format production at the scale outdoor advertising demands — bulletin vinyl for fixed structures, perforated mesh for wind-loaded installs, full wraps for mobile billboard trucks, and prismatic reflective sheeting for highway faces that need to read after sunset. Houston I-10, I-45, and 610-Loop installs week in and week out.

Vinyl Bulletin Billboards

The standard outdoor billboard format — 13–18 oz scrim vinyl printed full color, finished with welded pole pockets or grommets per the structure owner's spec, and shipped folded for crew install. Standard sizes follow the OAAA bulletin (14×48 ft) and 30-sheet (12×24 ft) conventions, but we cut to any structure's posted dimensions.

Standard sizes

14×48 ft bulletin, 12×24 ft 30-sheet, 8×22 ft 8-sheet, custom.

Substrate

13 oz scrim for standard, 18 oz heavy for high-wind installs.

Print method

UV-curable inkjet, color profiled for the substrate.

Finishing

Welded pole pockets, reinforced grommets, or owner's spec.

Outdoor life

2–4 years typical bulletin posting cycle.

Lead time

5–7 business days standard.

Good for

Highway and freeway bulletin postings · Brand campaign rotations · Tobacco / alcohol / political advertising compliance posting · Event countdown billboards (concerts, sports, festivals) · Local business and law-firm bulletin programs · Real-estate and homebuilder community-entry signs

Perforated PVC mesh · Reduced wind load

Mesh Billboards

When a billboard structure or wall-mounted face is exposed to coastal wind, sits on top of a tall building, or is required by the owner to relieve wind load, we print on perforated PVC mesh — the same substrate used for stadium and scaffolding wraps, scaled to billboard dimensions. The mesh openness drops printable resolution slightly, but billboards are read from 100+ feet so the difference disappears.

Substrate

8–10 oz perforated PVC mesh, roughly 30% open area.

Resolution

Lower than scrim — best viewing at 50+ ft. Tested against the install spot.

Wind relief

Dramatically lower load than 13 oz scrim. Required by some structure owners.

Print method

UV-curable inkjet with backer paper to prevent bleed-through.

Finishing

Welded pole pockets and reinforced grommets per structure spec.

Lead time

5–7 business days standard.

Good for

Coastal-exposure billboard structures · Rooftop billboards · Building-side wall murals 30+ ft · High-rise scaffolding billboards · Stadium and arena exterior billboards · Construction-fence advertising at building height

Mobile Billboard Graphics

Full-color wraps for box-truck mobile billboard fleets — two side panels and a rear face, sometimes a roof print for high-rise visibility. Different substrate spec than highway bulletin (the truck is closer to the viewer and seen from many angles, so we use cast vehicle vinyl with laminate rather than scrim banner) but the production logic is the same: grand-format full-color art designed to read at speed.

Substrate

Cast or calendared vehicle vinyl with overlaminate.

Panel layout

Two sides + rear; optional roof + sponsor wrap-around.

Outdoor life

3–5 years on continuous-use box trucks.

Removable option

Removable adhesive for short-campaign trucks.

Print only

We print — your installer or a referred installer applies.

Lead time

5–7 business days standard.

Good for

Mobile billboard rental fleets · Election season campaign trucks · Concert and festival promo trucks · Product-launch street activation trucks · Sports-team promotional trucks · Cause-marketing and PSA trucks

§ 04 · Read after dark
High-intensity prismatic · Night visibility

Reflective Billboards

A billboard face printed on prismatic reflective sheeting using translucent inks, so the graphic stays bright when struck by headlights at night — even on un-lit billboards that would otherwise read as dark silhouettes after sunset. Cost-effective alternative to electrical illumination of the structure, with no power draw or maintenance trip required.

Sheeting

High-intensity prismatic reflective film.

Inks

Translucent UV inks that preserve retroreflectivity.

Nighttime

Graphic appears bright when hit by vehicle headlights.

Daytime

Normal full-color appearance under daylight.

Outdoor life

7–10 years for HIP sheeting.

Lead time

7–10 business days; longer for very large faces.

Good for

Un-illuminated highway billboards · Rural-road and interstate billboards · Construction-zone and detour informational signage · Safety and emergency-services campaigns · Highway-exit business directional signs · Toll-road and toll-bridge sponsor signs

What to send us for a billboard job

  • Vector preferred — AI, EPS, or PDF/X with all fonts outlined.
  • Raster minimum — 25–50 DPI at finished size for highway billboards (viewed from 100+ ft). Don't oversize the file — that just slows our RIP without improving final quality.
  • Bleed — 6 in around all edges (covers pole-pocket fold, grommet patches, and structure trim).
  • Safe zone — keep critical text 12 in inside the bleed line. Some structures have visible trim that masks the perimeter.
  • Structure dimensions — give us the face dimensions (visible area) plus pole-pocket / grommet spec from the structure owner.
  • Posting calendar — installs are typically scheduled in advance. Tell us the post date and we'll work backward.
  • Upload through our artwork uploader (files up to 2 GB) or email info@pspimaging.com.
