Sign faces engineered to be lit from behind — bright and saturated at night, clean and legible by day. Five formats, picked by cabinet depth, lamp type, image complexity, and how much daytime "pop" your brand needs.
A flexible, translucent vinyl printed to stretch across a sign cabinet's tension frame. The face passes light evenly from fluorescent tubes or LED modules behind it, so color stays vivid after dark while reading cleanly during the day. Tension keeps the face flat through Gulf-coast heat cycles — no sagging in August, no wrinkling on a January cold front.
PVC-coated polyester, translucent. Typical weights 13–18 oz.
Single-piece up to ~120 in. Seamed welds available for larger faces.
UV-curable. UV clearcoat over-finish optional for added fade resistance.
Fluorescent (HO/VHO) and LED. Even diffusion across the face.
Welded perimeter pockets, rope hem, or raw — specify on the order.
3–5 business days standard. Rush available.
Tension-frame cabinet signs · Storefront pylons & monument signs · Gas-station price & canopy signs · Drive-thru menu cabinets · Channel-letter raceways with translucent faces
Same flexible substrate as standard flex face, but with an embedded white blocker layer that limits ambient light from washing the face out during the day. Daytime color reads richer and contrast jumps, while nighttime illumination from inside the cabinet still passes through correctly. The right pick when a sign sits in full sun or competes against a busy commercial backdrop.
PVC-coated polyester with internal white block layer.
Reads opaque-white where un-printed; saturated color where printed.
Light transmission tuned for evenly-lit cabinet illumination.
Single-piece up to ~120 in. Seamed welds available.
LED preferred for the brighter source needed to punch through blockout.
3–5 business days standard. Rush available.
South-facing storefronts in direct sun · Drive-thru menus where daytime legibility matters most · Brand identities where exact daytime PMS color match is critical · Replacing washed-out, faded standard flex faces
A clear or white polycarbonate panel printed directly with UV-stable inks, dropped into the cabinet as a rigid drop-in face. Polycarbonate is the right call when the cabinet design uses a routed retainer, when wind load argues against tensioned vinyl, or when the customer wants a long-life face that won't ripple or warp. Blockout variants add a white opacity layer for the same daytime-color benefits as blockout flex.
Clear or white polycarbonate. 0.118″ (3 mm) and 0.236″ (6 mm) common.
UV-curable inkjet, second-surface printed for scratch protection.
Standard 48×96 in. Oversized stock to ~60×120 in on request.
Internal white opacity layer for daytime color saturation.
Saw-cut, router-cut, polished, or radiused — per your retainer spec.
4–6 business days standard.
Routed retainer cabinets · Cabinets with high wind load · Long-life installs where flex-face replacement cycles aren't acceptable · Channel-letter face replacement when matching an OEM polycarbonate spec
A specialty adhesive vinyl printed with stacked ink layers so the graphic shows one appearance during the day (the daytime print on the outer face) and a different, illuminated appearance at night (the inner backlit layer glows through when the cabinet is lit). Most often used on smaller cabinet signs, awning panels, and menu boards where a separate replaceable face isn't practical.
Translucent adhesive vinyl, day/night layered print build.
Applied to acrylic, polycarbonate, or glass face panels.
Even LED illumination strongly recommended for predictable color.
3–5 years with overlaminate, depending on exposure.
Up to 54 in print width. Cut to perimeter or kiss-cut on liner.
3–4 business days standard.
Existing acrylic cabinet faces that just need a graphic update · Backlit menu boards · Small storefront awning panels · Window-mounted lighted signs · Promotional changeover graphics on existing fixtures
Silicone-edge graphic (SEG) fabric dye-sublimated and finished with a continuous silicone bead along the perimeter. The fabric snaps into the groove of a slim aluminum extrusion frame containing an LED light box, producing a clean wall-mounted backlit display without bezel hardware visible at the edge. The fabric face can be swapped in seconds, which is why retail interiors and trade-show booths default to this format for refresh-friendly visuals.
Dye-sublimation on backlit polyester fabric. Vivid, saturated color.
Continuous silicone-bead welt around the entire perimeter.
Slim (2–4 in) wall-mount or free-standing LED lightboxes.
Edge-lit or back-lit LED panels for even diffusion.
Modular sizes from poster (24×36) up to wall-scale (10×8 ft).
We can supply the lightbox or print the fabric only. Specify on quote.
